I was skeptical when i first herd of facebook as the new myspace, but I must admit that it surprised me. I absolutely love it and will never go back to myspace. Down with myspace and its shady content. Long live facebook and the endless possibilities of good clean online community.

I have been inspired to post more often by my friend Brian who always has new interesting things on his blog. So here's to you Brian. (Ironically I introduced Brian to blogging. He has by far surpassed my efforts!) I thought I would start tonight with what I have been listening to lately, so here goes. . .


Danny Cox is a new friend who is the music director at Kensington Community Church. Before his music directing days he was a full time recording artist, studio musician, and producer. It really is crazy that this guy lives in Michigan. Anyway he recently released a new CD "Hallowed Ground", and it just does not get old. When a CD or song never gets too old for you, you know it's a good one. You can hear some of his songs and learn more about Danny by clicking here.



I just recently started listening to Augustana's "All the Stars and Boulevards". Actually I have not even listened to the entire CD yet, but I absolutely love what I have herd. It just sits well with me. These guys are creative. Not just a garage band, but good musicians contributing to the genre. I would highly recommend a listen to them.








I have suprisingly been impressed with Snow Patrol and their latest effort "Eyes Open". I think these guys have longevity in them. Their music is passionate, creatively intersting, and they are able to contribute to the genre while still retianing some "popness". I think they could be the next U2.









This is my best Michigan find. This is the most creative band I have herd of in a long time! Warning, they are not radio friendly, but if you are into music that is outside of the box, you will not be let down. They have the coolest instrumentation from bells, to trumpet, trombone, electric guitar, B3 organ, to shakers and rattles and two concert bass drums. Oh and they are amazing live!!

It has been a long time coming but I finally have a new guitar!!! What is even better is that I had this custom made by Mike Franks a guitar maker here in Michigan. He has only been making guitars for three years, but has an amazing talent! His guitars have gotten rave reviews and people cannot believe he has only made 30 or so guitars. I am very lucky to have meet him and had this opportunity to have him build this guitar. It was so much fun going over to his shop and picking out every aspect of the guitar from the wood to the pickup. You can find out more about Michael Franks Guitars by going to his website. This is going to sound kind of cheesy, but I don't care. I love this woman so much and cannot imagine life without her. She is my partner and best friend. She turns 30 years old today and in honor of this I thought I would make a list of the 30 things I love about my wife.

So here we go. . .

1. I love her smile, I have loved it from the first moment I saw her.
2. She is one of the funniest people that I know. She makes me laugh, and it's so much fun to live life with her.
   
3. She is very intelligent and smart.
   
4. She is one of the most compasionate people that I know. I have learned a lot from her in this area.
   
5. I think she is hot!!!
   
6. She has a wonderful family that I am very proud to be a part of.
7. She is an absolutely AMAZING mother. I have learned so much from her. Jackson is sooo lucky.
   
8. Melanie has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. (and she gave them to Jack)
9. I love her cheaks.
10. She has taught me to take myself less seriously.
11. She's a good kisser! : )
    
12. She is GREAT at CHEERing me and jack on.
    
13. She loves kids.
    
14. She loves the elderly. Actually she always loves those who are sometimes hard to love.

23. Her love is beautiful and inspiring to me.
24. She is my best friend.
25. She has a presence about her that is captivating.
26. She loves mint chocolate chip ice cream!!
27. She enjoys art.
28. She loves the outdoors.
29. She is patient.
30. She has great passion for Jesus and living her life for Him. The fact that we get to serve Him together just amazes me. It is such a privledge.

Well that is it for now. I suppose I am a little biased, but I think she is the greatest, and I look forward to growing old together. That will be something REALLY great!
